Recruitment Scams

Recruitment scams are on the rise in Australia and New Zealand. Candidates are increasingly targeted via various online platforms designed to trick them into sharing personal information and paying sums of money in return for fake employment opportunities.

Talent Nation will never ask a candidate for money. We will never ask a client for cash via a text or social media platform and will only email our clients with a legitimate tax invoice for work that we have been contracted to undertake. Never feel pressured to release information or money to anyone.

What to look out for

  • Beware of advertisements, emails, phone calls, text messages, or WhatsApp messages that guarantee job offers or income.
  • Be wary of domain names where there is an additional word or variations in spelling.
  • Be cautious of anyone requesting personal details or charging a fee for accessing job information.
  • Stay vigilant for promises that sound too good to be true, such as making large sums of money effortlessly or guaranteeing returns.
  • Keep an eye out for suspicious activity on LinkedIn or other social media platforms, including:
  • Profile images lacking authenticity.
  • Logos that look similar, but upon closer inspection are different.
  • Websites that look similar, but don’t have click-through drop-down menus.
  • Limited business information and a lack of interaction on social media platforms.
  • No contact details other than the mobile number.
