The Organisation

Landcom is the NSW Government's land and property developer, delivering more affordable and sustainable communities across NSW. An opportunity exists for a Sustainability Officer - Green Star, to join the Sustainability team on an initial 6-month contract, supporting the consistent delivery of Green Star requirements across development projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, you will help embed Green Star requirements across Landcom's projects by developing practical tools, guidance and processes that support development teams.
Working closely with Development and Sustainability stakeholders, you will translate technical sustainability requirements into clear, actionable guidance, build Green Star capability across teams, and provide hands-on support to improve project delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Green Star delivery across development projects.
  • Develop and improve sustainability processes, tools and guidance materials.
  • Translate technical requirements into practical advice for project teams.
  • Build Green Star capability through training, workshops and stakeholder engagement.
  • Review documentation and support certification-related activities.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and consultants to progress sustainability outcomes.
  • Prepare and consolidate sustainability and ESG documentation.
  • Drive greater consistency and governance across project delivery.
About You

You are an organised and proactive sustainability professional who enjoys working with stakeholders and turning complex requirements into practical solutions.
You may come from a sustainability, property, urban development, planning, construction or consulting background. While Green Star knowledge is valued, your ability to communicate clearly, build relationships and support teams is equally important.

Required Skills and Proficiencies
  • Experience in sustainability, ESG, Green Star or the built environment.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to simplify technical information and develop practical guidance.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities.
  • Experience facilitating training, workshops or presentations is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools for research or content development will be highly regarded.
