Head of Forest Regeneration
Great opportunity to work at the forefront of Australia's carbon and regeneration sector.
- Sydney preferred, other locations maybe considered
- Career growth pathway
- Highly autonomous and impactful role
Our client, Corporate Carbon Group is an Australian carbon market and ESG platform delivering large-scale abatement projects, advisory services, and emerging climate technologies. Operating across multiple entities, including an AFSL-licensed advisory business, pastoral operations, and direct air capture technology, the group combines technical excellence with commercial depth.
The organisation manages a significant and growing portfolio of carbon projects across the ACCU Scheme and broader markets, working closely with regulators, landholders, and commercial partners to deliver real climate outcomes.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, the Head of Forest Regeneration will lead the delivery of a large-scale portfolio of forest regeneration projects, primarily under the ACCU Scheme’s Human Induced Regeneration (HIR) method. This is one of the most senior technical leadership roles within the Carbon Delivery function, with direct exposure to executive strategy and decision-making.
You will provide strategic and technical oversight across project delivery, modelling, measurement and verification (M&V), compliance, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring best-practice outcomes across a complex and growing portfolio.
Beyond leading the current portfolio, the role is positioned as a critical succession pathway, with the opportunity to step into a more senior role as capability and organisational knowledge are demonstrated.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
- Oversee full lifecycle delivery of HIR projects from registration through to ACCU issuance.
- Ensure compliance with Clean Energy Regulator methodologies and regulatory frameworks.
- Provide strategic direction across regeneration projects, identifying risks, opportunities, and scalable delivery approaches.
- Guide technical design, modelling, measurement, reporting, and verification processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, auditors, clients, and landholders.
- Represent the organisation in external forums and stakeholder engagements.
- Contribute to broader carbon delivery initiatives across multiple methodologies.
- Coordinate site visits, audits, and stakeholder engagement activities (including periodic travel to Northern Australia).
You are a technically credible and strategically minded leader with deep expertise in Human Induced Regeneration and the ACCU Scheme. You combine strong delivery capability with commercial acumen and are motivated by the opportunity to step into a broader executive leadership role over time.
You thrive in complex, evolving environments and bring the ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and translate technical requirements into practical, scalable outcomes.
Required Skills and Proficiencies
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, ecology, forestry, engineering, or related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of the ACCU Scheme, particularly HIR methodology (essential).
- Proven experience delivering HIR projects through to ACCU issuance.
- Experience leading teams and complex project delivery in regulated environments.
- Deep understanding of carbon project design, modelling, and M&V processes.
- Familiarity with FullCAM and carbon modelling systems (desirable).
- Exposure to additional methodologies (savanna fire, environmental plantings, and/or soil carbon would be advantageous).
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience, including regulators and landholders.
- Highly developed communication, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills.
This is a high-impact leadership role with one of Australia’s more established carbon market operators, leading a major HIR portfolio under the ACCU Scheme. You will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio spanning savanna fire, environmental plantings, soil carbon, and emerging climate technologies.
The role also offers a clear pathway into a more senior position for a strong technical and commercial leader. Additionally, you will enjoy hybrid working, working on nationally significant projects, and a collaborative, purpose-driven culture.
