The Company

As regulatory expectations intensify and reporting matures, they are expanding their capability with the appointment of an experienced Sustainability Reporting Manager.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability Reporting, you will play a central role in strengthening Sonic Healthcare’s sustainability reporting frameworks and delivering high quality, data‑driven disclosures. The role combines hands‑on data analysis and systems work with strategic oversight of reporting, assurance, and process improvement. You will be the team’s internal subject‑matter expert, taking ownership of complex projects and guiding the business on what good looks like.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead data‑related sustainability projects, including scoping, stakeholder engagement, and timely delivery.
  • Support the preparation of mandatory and voluntary disclosures through data collection, validation, analysis, and narrative development.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Derive insights from large data packs during peak reporting cycles.
  • Drive uplift of data quality, reporting systems, and internal controls across global business units.
  • Coordinate sustainability assurance activities and deliver high‑quality supporting evidence.
  • Contribute to system implementations and ongoing process optimisation.
  • Monitor changes to global sustainability standards (ASRS, GRI, TCFD, CSRD/ESRS).
  • Support emerging initiatives such as SBTi alignment, baseline resets, and target development.
  • Act as the internal SME while partnering with external advisers.

You are a skilled sustainability reporting professional looking for a role where your expertise genuinely shapes outcomes. You’re a pragmatic, hands‑on specialist who brings both technical depth and a grounded, collaborative working style. You take ownership, cut through complexity, and bring clarity to data‑driven reporting challenges. As the team’s internal SME, you’re equally comfortable advising on best practice as you are getting close to the data, systems, and processes that ensure reporting excellence.

You’re an independent, solutions‑oriented thinker who knows how to assess what needs to be done, design a structured plan, and deliver with minimal supervision. You thrive in a fast‑moving, federated environment where maturity varies, bringing order, structure, and practical improvements to the way work gets done.

You communicate with clarity, work confidently with senior stakeholders, and challenge constructively when needed. You enjoy being part of a small, agile team, contributing collaboratively and stepping up during peak reporting periods to support collective success.

Required Skills and Proficiencies
Your background may include experience within in a Big Four advisory team or in an in‑house ESG/Sustainability reporting role, where you have led data‑driven projects and built strong relationships across the business. You are commercially minded, detail‑oriented, and committed to continuous learning, seeking development opportunities that bring clear business value.

Other key experience includes:
  • 5+ years in sustainability reporting, ESG assurance, or related advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability standards and reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to run complex data‑driven projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Excel and analytical capability, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work across a federated organisation and influence multiple stakeholders.
  • A proactive, curious mindset and collaborative working style.
  • Experience in SBTi, ESG ratings, and materiality assessments will be beneficial.
