Our client is a growing and purpose-driven Australian operator within the property and communities sector, committed to delivering positive environmental and social outcomes. With a focus on sustainable living and long-term impact, the business is progressing a significant sustainability agenda, including decarbonisation initiatives and the introduction of formal climate-related disclosures.

The Role

This position offers the chance to sit at the centre of our client's sustainability reporting and climate readiness work. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, the Senior Sustainability Advisor will help strengthen the organisation’s reporting foundations, improve the quality of emissions and ESG data, and support the delivery of initiatives that connect compliance, governance and operational performance.
Working closely with teams across finance, property, operations and energy, you will translate complex information into clear reporting and practical insight. The role combines technical reporting responsibilities with cross-functional coordination, making it well suited to someone who enjoys both detail and broader strategic contribution.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Support the organisation’s readiness for mandatory climate-related reporting, including disclosures aligned to ASRS requirements
• Coordinate emissions data collection, review and reconciliation across multiple operational and corporate data sources
• Contribute to assurance activities by helping maintain accurate, traceable and audit-ready climate data
• Assist with the development of reporting and analysis that informs climate-related risks, opportunities and business planning
• Prepare inputs for board, investor and lender reporting, including sustainability-linked commitments where required
• Work with internal stakeholders to support decarbonisation projects and broader sustainability priorities across the asset portfolio
• Help maintain reporting systems, processes and controls that improve consistency, governance and decision-useful insight

About You

You are an analytically strong sustainability or finance professional who is comfortable working with complex data, evolving reporting requirements and multiple stakeholder groups. You bring sound judgement, strong attention to detail and the ability to link technical reporting work with broader commercial and operational priorities.
You are likely to enjoy roles where rigour matters, where systems and processes can be improved, and where sustainability reporting is used as a tool for better decision-making rather than a standalone compliance task. Strong communication skills, curiosity and the confidence to work across different parts of the business will be important in this role.

Required Skills and Proficiencies

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
• 4–7 years’ experience in ESG reporting, sustainability, or financial/data analysis
• Strong understanding of ESG frameworks (e.g. ASRS, TCFD, SBTi) and reporting requirements
• Experience with greenhouse gas accounting and emissions reporting
• Advanced Excel and data analysis/visualisation capability
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs

Desirable:

• Experience leading ESG or sustainability projects
• Exposure to Power BI or similar tools
• Background in property, energy, carbon accounting, or climate reporting
